About us

The NIVUS Group is a worldwide leader for measurement technology in drinking, potable and wastewater. Apart from developing, manufacturing and supplying the complete range of products for flow and level as well as the corresponding communication interfaces, we are also experts in the field of consulting and engineering.

NIVUS is a solution provider! Our application spectrum comprises water distribution, sewage, open channels, irrigation systems, hydropower plants, municipal and industrial channel networks (nuclear power plants, steel plants etc.), water/wastewater treatment, etc. in all kinds of geometries. Furthermore, our services include monitoring and leakage detection (e.g. Non-Revenue Water calculation) combined with detailed reports and data evaluation.

NIVUS has been certified according to ISO 9001 since 1995 and ATEX since 1999. Later then, the M-CERTS certificate, WRAS approval certificate and the IECEx scheme have been added.

Nivuflow 750 mobile

With the aid of a built-in modem measurement data are automatically transmitted to the NIVUS Web Portal using the most powerful mobile services network available. This is from where the readings can be called up easily by simply using a web browser. The is no more need for service personnel to visit measurement places only to read out data.

Rethink River Monitoring: Accurate River Flow Measurement, Wireless

For decades, precise river gauging meant one thing: complex, costly, and disruptive cable installations across the water. That era is over. NIVUS introduces Wireless Transit Time technology, a revolutionary, cableless measuring solution for real-time surface water flow monitoring.

The High Cost of Old Technology

Traditional methods of river flow measurement are holding you back. They require extensive civil works, such as running armored cables in trenches across riverbeds. This approach is not only incredibly expensive (often several 100K €), but it also limits your options. Measurement sites are chosen based on convenience, like an existing bridge, not on what is best from a hydrometric standpoint. This compromise limits data quality and inflates budgets.

The Future is Cableless: Wireless Transit Time Measurement

Our Wireless Transit Time system provides the high-quality, real-time data you need, without the drawbacks of physical cables across the river. By using GPS for ultra-precise time synchronization, our sensors communicate wirelessly across the river, delivering accurate time-of-flight flow velocity measurements.

This completely eliminates the need for disruptive and costly river crossings. Now, you can establish a highly accurate river gauge at the hydraulically perfect location, not just the most convenient one. This innovation opens up new possibilities for monitoring large river systems and remote locations that were previously inaccessible.

Unlock Unprecedented Advantages

  • Drastic Cost Savings

    • Eliminate the immense expense of civil works and underwater cable installation. The installation cost and maintenance regimes are substantially reduced.

  •  Ultimate Site Flexibility

    • Choose measurement sites based purely on hydraulic considerations, not existing infrastructure. Install a precise river gauge wherever you need it most.

  •  Access Unmeasurable Sites

    • Large, remote, or protected river systems are now accessible, providing critical real-time flow data for better decision-making.

  • Superior Accuracy

    • With up to 32 measurement paths, our system delivers highly precise and reliable river flow monitoring data, compliant with ISO 6416.

  •  Minimal Environmental Impact

    • Avoid trenching and other disruptive construction in sensitive river ecosystems. Our system requires minimal intervention and reduced material usage.

  •  Fully Self-Sufficient

    • Designed for remote deployment, the system can be powered by solar panels and batteries, ensuring continuous monitoring without reliance on the grid.

Solutions for Critical Water Management

Our Wireless Transit Time technology provides essential data for a wide range of stakeholders responsible for water security and management.

Key Applications

  • Fluvial Flood Protection & Warning: Get precise, real-time data for more reliable flood forecasting.

  • Irrigation Monitoring: Optimize water distribution and ensure fair usage in large-scale irrigation networks.

  • Abstraction & Intake Monitoring: Accurately measure water intake for power stations, industrial processes, and utilities.

  • Environmental & Ecological Monitoring: Conduct surface water flow monitoring with minimal disturbance to natural habitats.

  • Drought Control & Waterway Monitoring: Manage water resources effectively during critical low-flow periods.

Ideal For

  • Utilities (Private and State-Owned)
